OUR BELIEFS
-
The principle of giving has been established from the very beginning of Scripture and remains a vital practice for believers today. Tithing, in particular, is a divine command that demonstrates faithfulness, obedience, and trust in God’s provision. The earliest mention of a tithe occurs in Genesis 14:20, when Abram (later Abraham) met Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of the Most High God. Abram “gave him tithes of all”, showing recognition that God’s blessings flow through His appointed servants and leaders. Later, God reaffirmed the principle to Jacob, saying, “Of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee” (Gen. 28:20–22). This practice was further codified in the Mosaic Law, where God instructed through Moses, “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s: it is holy unto the Lord” (Lev. 27:30), emphasizing that tithes are not for personal gain but are set apart as sacred to God.
The tithe carries with it a promise of divine blessing. Malachi 3:8-10 encourages the faithful to bring their tithes into the storehouse, promising that God will “open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” The tithe, therefore, is both an act of obedience and an avenue for receiving God’s abundant provision.
Beyond tithing, the Bible outlines multiple forms of giving, all of which Operation Good News actively engages in. Each form of giving carries unique purposes and spiritual principles that honor God, serve others, and demonstrate our dependence on His provision.
Tithe
A tithe is defined as 10% of one’s income or increase. This portion is not merely a gift offered to God—it is His by right. By faithfully giving the tithe, we recognize God as the ultimate provider and demonstrate our obedience to His Word. Malachi 3:10 states:
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
Tithing teaches discipline, prioritizes God in our finances, and opens the door for His supernatural blessings in every area of life.
Offering
An offering is a gift given above and beyond the tithe, often as a spontaneous act of love and gratitude toward God. Scripture teaches the principle of sowing and reaping in 2 Corinthians 9:6-8:
“A farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop, but the one who plants generously will get a generous crop… Each of you must decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need, so that you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”
Offerings reflect the condition of the heart. God desires cheerful, willing givers who honor Him through generosity. Such giving cultivates faith, trust, and the joy of partnering with God’s work in the world.
First Fruits Giving
First fruits giving is a joyful expression of gratitude, typically offered after receiving an increase, such as a raise, bonus, or surplus. By giving first fruits, believers acknowledge that all blessings come from God and set themselves apart for continued provision and spiritual growth. Deuteronomy 26:1-5 explains:
“When you enter the land… put some of the first produce from each crop you harvest into a basket and bring it to the designated place of worship… With this gift I acknowledge to the Lord your God that I have entered the land he swore to our ancestors he would give us.”
First fruits giving demonstrates faith, obedience, and recognition that God is the source of all abundance. It fosters a heart of gratitude and invites further spiritual and material blessings.
Almsgiving
Almsgiving is giving specifically to help the poor and those in need. The Bible consistently commends generosity toward the vulnerable, emphasizing that caring for others is pleasing to God. Proverbs 28:27 says:
“Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed.”
Almsgiving develops compassion, mercy, and awareness of God’s concern for the needy. It demonstrates a practical expression of God’s love and aligns our priorities with His heart for justice and care.
Sacrificial Giving
Sacrificial giving goes beyond the ordinary, requiring believers to offer more than what is convenient or easy. It is a giving of one’s best, sometimes stretching personal resources to honor God. Matthew 6:21 reminds us:
“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”
Such giving demonstrates complete trust in God, a heart fully committed to His purposes, and a willingness to place Him above personal comfort or gain.
Honoring a Man of God
Supporting and honoring ministers of God is a biblical principle that triggers spiritual blessings both for the giver and the ministry. Scripture illustrates this principle in 2 Kings 4:9-10:
“She said to her husband… Let’s build a small room for him… Then he will have a place to stay whenever he comes by.”
Matthew 25:40 further reminds us that acts of honor and support toward God’s servants are considered service to Christ Himself:
“When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me.”
Honoring ministers strengthens the work of the gospel and demonstrates reverence for God’s appointed servants.
Partnership with a Traveling Ministry
Partnering with traveling or itinerant ministries allows believers to participate in advancing the gospel and assures spiritual favor in their personal and business lives. Luke 8:1-3 records:
“Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages… and many others were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.”
Supporting such ministries ensures that believers share in the fruit of their labor and participate in God’s global work, which brings both spiritual and practical blessings.
By practicing tithes, offerings, first fruits, almsgiving, sacrificial giving, honoring ministers, and partnership with traveling ministries, believers obey God’s Word, demonstrate faith, and activate His blessings. These acts of stewardship are not merely financial—they are expressions of worship, commitment, and love for God and His people.

We believe that the Holy Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, is the ultimate and final authority in all matters of truth, morality, faith, and human conduct. It stands as the complete and sufficient source for all that we believe and practice, guiding every aspect of life according to God’s divine standard.
-
We believe that every human life is sacred, having been created by God in His own image and likeness. Each life holds immeasurable value and dignity in every form and at every stage—from conception to natural death. This truth encompasses pre-born children, the elderly, and all individuals regardless of physical or mental ability.
Because all life originates from God and bears His divine imprint, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect human life in all its expressions. (Psalm 139)
-
Because God has established marriage as a sacred covenant between one man, one woman, and Himself, Operation Good News recognizes and affirms only those marriages that align with this biblical definition—between one biological man and one biological woman.
Accordingly, the pastors, ministers, and staff of Operation Good News shall only officiate or participate in wedding ceremonies that uphold this definition of marriage. Likewise, all facilities and properties owned or operated by Operation Good News, now and in the future, shall be used exclusively for weddings that unite one man and one woman in holy matrimony, as ordained by God’s Word.
-
We believe that God purposefully and unchangeably created every person as either male or female. These two distinct and complementary genders together reveal the fullness of God’s image and nature. (Genesis 1:26–27) To reject or alter one’s biological sex is to deny God’s divine design and the reflection of His image within that person.
We believe that “marriage,” according to Scripture, is the sacred covenantal union between one man and one woman, joined together in an exclusive and lifelong relationship. (Genesis 2:18–25) God designed sexual intimacy to exist solely within the marriage covenant between a man and a woman. (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2–5; Hebrews 13:4) Any sexual activity outside this covenant—including adultery, fornication, homosexual or bisexual acts, incest, bestiality, or the use of pornography—is sinful and contrary to God’s Word. (Matthew 15:18–20; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10)
We further believe that to uphold the biblical integrity and testimony of Operation Good News as a representative of the Body of Christ, and to serve as a clear biblical example to members and the community, all individuals employed by or volunteering with Operation Good News must agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14–16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22)
We believe that through Jesus Christ, God extends redemption and restoration to all who repent and turn from sin, receiving His mercy and forgiveness. (Acts 3:19–21; Romans 10:9–10; 1 Corinthians 6:9–11)
Finally, we affirm that every person is deserving of compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28–31; Luke 6:31) Any form of hatred, harassment, or mistreatment toward any individual is inconsistent with the teachings of Scripture and the heart of Operation Good News.
-
We believe that gathering together in person is a vital and God-ordained part of the Church’s purpose and mission. Scripture clearly commands believers to assemble regularly and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ daily. Meeting face-to-face allows the Church to fully obey and demonstrate the biblical sacraments established in God’s Word—such as the laying on of hands, singing praises, shouting with joy, dancing before the Lord in worship, and baptizing new believers in water.
These acts of faith and obedience are to be carried out regardless of the size of the gathering—whether few or many, during times of health or sickness, in peace or in conflict, indoors or outdoors. Operation Good News holds that in-person services and gatherings without restriction or dependence on apparel, devices, masks, immunizations, vaccines, or any other external requirements, to include approval from a man-made government, is not found in Scripture.
(Zephaniah 2:1; Mark 2:27; Hebrews 10:25)
-
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God—unchanging and final in all matters of truth and faith. It stands as the supreme guide for life and godliness. (II Timothy 3:16–17)
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7)
We believe in the full deity of Jesus Christ—His virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous works, sacrificial death through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His ongoing ministry as our High Priest. (1 Timothy 3:16; Romans 3:25–26)
We believe in the divine call to share the gospel with passion and purpose, fulfilling Christ’s command to reach the world through evangelism and missions. (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:15–18)
We believe that salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit, regenerating the heart of sinful humanity. We also believe in God’s power to preserve and sustain those who belong to Him. (Hebrews 9:22; Jude 24–25)
We believe that sanctification and holiness are essential in the believer’s life and reflect God’s purpose for His Church—the Bride of Christ—to live victoriously and pure. (Ephesians 5:25–27)
We believe that sexual purity is required of all believers. This means abstaining from adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, and any other sexual practices forbidden by Scripture. (Romans 1:26–27; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 6:18; Leviticus 18:1–30)
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God, joining one man and one woman in lifelong commitment and faithfulness. (Matthew 19:4–6)
We believe water baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward faith in Jesus Christ, symbolizing one’s acceptance of Him as Lord and Savior. (Acts 10:47–48)
We believe baptism is for believers and should be performed by immersion, representing the gospel message of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection—and our new life in Him. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4)
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as first experienced on the Day of Pentecost, and in His ongoing ministry through spiritual gifts, divine callings, and the fruit He produces in believers’ lives. (Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6; Ephesians 4:11; 1 Corinthians 12:8–11; Galatians 5:22–23)
We believe divine healing is made available through Christ’s atonement, as He bore our sicknesses and carried our pains. (1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17)
We believe that the Church will be caught up (raptured) before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10)
